Golden Globe Nominations Announced
The nominees for the 64th Annual Golden Globe Awards were announced this morning, and the Brad Pitt/Cate Blanchett drama Babel led the pack in the movie categories, nabbing seven nominations. Its nods include Best Picture, Best Supporting Actress (Adriana Barraza), and Best Supporting Actor (Brad Pitt). Martin Scorsese's The Departed got six nominations, including Best Picture, Best Director and Best Actor (Leonardo DiCaprio).In the television cateogries, Grey's Anatomy and Weeds led the way, with four nominations each, including a Best Series nod for Grey's Anatomy.
In nominations that may prove to hurt more than help chances of winning, Leonardo DiCaprio was nominated twice in the Best Actor category (for The Departed and Blood Diamond), as was Clint Eastwood in the Best Director category (for Flags Of Our Fathers and Letters From Iwo Jima).
